The VEB Staatsverlag of the German Democratic Republic was a book and magazine publisher in the GDR with headquarters in Berlin.

history

The publishing house was established in January 1963 at the instigation of the GDR Council of Ministers to publish state documents in book and notebook form. He was thus the successor to the German Central Publishing House . In later years guides and popular science books were added.

In the spring of 1990 the publisher was renamed to Verlag Recht und Wirtschaft and placed under the trust authority. In 1991 the publishing house was sold to the Huss publishing house .
