The Belvedere (in Czech often Belveder ) was a football stadium in the Czech capital, Prague . It was used by the German football club DFC Prague and was located on the south-eastern edge of Letná Park north of the old town .

history

DFC Prague, founded in 1896, initially played on the so-called Königswiese, but was soon the first club to find a new home on the completely undeveloped Letná site . To do this, the club tore down a tent in the southeast corner of the site and built a sports field there, which, in addition to a fence, also had a covered seating area.

In the immediate vicinity of the Belvedere was the Slavia Prague stadium , one of the DFC's biggest rivals.

Between 1937 and 1939, the building of the National Agricultural Museum was built on the site of the Belvedere, which is still located there today. The National Technical Museum is directly opposite .
