Wels city cemetery
The city cemetery Wels is the only Welser cemetery. It is around 13.6 hectares and is located in the Neustadt district on Friedhofstrasse. The cemetery is operated by the city of Wels.
history
Before 1784, the Wels cemetery was located around the parish church , later in the area of the exhibition grounds. The current cemetery was built at its current location in 1886 and expanded in 1917, 1965 and 1975.
According to the cemetery regulations, the city has set up a joint crypt of honor for former mayors and honorary citizens.
