The city pond was an artificial waters north of the Czech town of Jáchymov in the Bohemian Erzgebirge .

The pond was created in 1552 according to plans by Anton Reiss and Jacob Genesis. He took care of the mining art of the Goppelschachts , the Hohe Tanne and the Einigkeit mine . On April 29, 1593 the dam broke and the leaking water caused considerable damage. In 1930 a forest swimming pool with boat rental was set up in the city pond. When the dam broke again in the spring of 1981 and damage occurred in the valley, no restoration was undertaken.
