Water supply

The supply area includes 100% of the city of Kufstein and parts of Ebbs and Langkampfen. The water dispensers for the supply are the Hofinger Quelle (spring water) and the Tiefbrunnen Fürhölzl (deep well water). The water values ​​are perfect for both water dispensers. The theater hut elevated tank with a capacity of 6000 m³, which was built in 1994, serves as a failure reserve. This means that Kufstein can be supplied with water for 1.5 days. In 2005, a drinking water power plant was installed in the inlet of the theater hut elevated tank. The approximately 160,000 kWh of green electricity generated annually are fed into the municipal utility's low-voltage network. Currently around 19,000 residents are supplied with drinking water over 2,150 house connections.

Sanitation

Since 1996 the Stadtwerke Kufstein have also been responsible for the disposal of wastewater. Around 55 km of collecting canals and over 2,150 house connections as well as four pumping stations and four controllable rain retention basins are looked after. The connection density is 99%. The wastewater from the municipality of Kufstein is treated in the sewage treatment plant of the wastewater association Kufstein and the surrounding area.

Waste management

In January 2006, the Stadtwerke took over the recycling yard and waste disposal from the municipality of Kufstein. In June 2011, the new recycling center was opened near the biomass cogeneration plant at the Kufstein-Süd motorway exit. An average of 200 customers visit the recycling center every day. Around 1,900 tons of residual waste and 1,100 tons of organic waste are disposed of every year.

District heating

District heating was introduced in Kufstein in 1978. In December 2003 Bioenergie Kufstein GmbH put Austria's largest and most powerful biomass cogeneration plant into operation on an area of ​​15,000 m². It is used to generate around 70 million kilowatt hours of district heating and 45 million kilowatt hours of green electricity. Today, around 400 customer systems (approx. 3,500 households) are connected to the district heating system via a 30 km long main line, covering more than 60% of the entire heating requirement of the city of Kufstein.

Stadtwerke Kufstein also provides the population with cable television. The programs and services are broadcast to over 9,000 Kufstein, Langkampfner and Ebbs households via their cable network, which has been expanded since 1974.

At the same time, Stadtwerke Kufstein also offers broadband internet access and landline telephony via the internet (Voice over IP) via the cable TV network. Over 5,000 customers in Kufstein, Langkampfen and Ebbs are currently using the KufNet broadband Internet access and around 2,500 customers make calls via the public utility's Internet data line.

City bus Kufstein

Since January 2006 the Kufstein city bus has been part of the company, which is also a member of the VVT ​​- Verkehrsverbund Tirol. The buses were doubled from two to four and the lines were increased from two to three. Whereas in 1995 an average of 680 people were transported between Monday and Saturday, in 2013 there were 2,400 passengers for the same period. In total, around 800,000 people use the means of transport each year.

Stadtwerke Kufstein was founded in 1894 with the establishment of the "Städtische Wasserleitungsanstalt", a few years later the areas of electricity and electrical installation were added. Today the company has stakes in the companies Kufgem-EDV GmbH (100%), Energie West (10.53%), Top City Kufstein (45%) and Bioenergie Kufstein (50%). The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the city of Kufstein .
