Stan Ioan Pătraş
Stan Ioan Pătraș (* 1908 in Săpânța ( Romania ), † 1977 ibid.) Was a Romanian artist . For decades he designed the cemetery in the municipality of Săpânța in the Maramureș district in northern Romania in a special way, so that it is now known far beyond Romania as the " Happy Cemetery " (Romanian: Cimitirul Vesel ) and attracts tourists: the traditional wooden grave stelae decorated Patras with hand-painted pictures of the deceased and with verses about their lives.
