Standard idioms for inland shipping

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The standard phrases for inland navigation ( English Standard Inland Navigation Communication Phrases ) (SINCP) are standardized phrases for the inland waterways in the languages French , Dutch , English and German .

The idioms were collected under the working title "Riverspeak" by members of the Education in Inland Navigation (EDINNA) network in order to standardize the agreements between inland navigation vessels. The collection was then submitted to the Police Committee of the Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine (CCNR) for examination. With the changes requested by the police committee, this became the standard Inland Navigation Communication Phrases. The CCNR recommends its use in inland waterway radio .

The Schiffer-Berufskolleg RHEIN has converted the SINCP into a free mobile app . It contains more than 1000 entries and has the short title LE SINCP . Translations are possible between all four languages and they are also read aloud in the desired language.
