Standard Advisory Council

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Standard Advisory Council (SAC) was the predecessor of the IFRS Advisory Council . (IFRS AC) It existed from 2001 to 2010 and during its existence it was an important organ in the context of the development of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and thus international accounting .

The SAC consisted of at least 30 members with different backgrounds (professional, nationality) and, like its successor to this day, served as an advisory body for the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the Board of Trustees.

The members' term of office was three years and they could be re-elected once.

The German members of the body included:

  • Heinz-Joachim Neubürger (until 2008)
  • Jochen Pape (from 2001 to 2008)
  • Christoph Ernst (2009 to 2010, then member of IFRS AC)
  • Norbert Barth (2009 to 2010, then member of IFRS AC)
  • Christoph Hütten (2009 to 2010, then member of IFRS AC)
