Alexander Ulfig

Alexander Ulfig (* 1962 in Katowice ) is a German philosopher and author .

Life

Ulfig studied philosophy , sociology and linguistics from 1983 to 1985 in Hamburg and from 1985 to 1989 in Frankfurt am Main . In 1997 he received his doctorate with a thesis on the living environment .

The focus of his work is the search for life orientations in the western world, questions about the meaning of life, the good and happiness. According to Ulfig, modern individualism represents the predominant life orientation in the western world. He defines this individualism as the individual's permanent preoccupation with himself. According to Ulfig, this results in a low birth rate , a lack of experience and a lack of social commitment. Therefore, individualism must be overcome.

Ulfig is the editor of the blog Cuncti , author of the journal Eigenlich frei and the internet newspaper Freie Welt .
