United Nations Minimum Standards for the Treatment of Prisoners (Nelson Mandela Rules)

The United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners (Nelson Mandela Rules) (English Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners ) were from the General Assembly of the United Nations adopted General Assembly on 17 December 2015 and adopted (resolution 70/175 ).

They have the suffix in honor of the former South African President Nelson Mandela . They go back to 1955.
