The funicular Hotel Montana is only 85 meters in length, the shortest funicular Switzerland. It is located in Lucerne and is actually considered an inclined elevator . It connects Haldenstrasse with the 4-star Hotel Montana . In the upper area it has several "stops" on the individual floors of the Swiss Hotel Management School in Lucerne .
history
The funicular was built between 1912 and 1914, at which time the Hotel Montana was also opened. In 1987 it had to be temporarily shut down. In 1988 it was completely refurbished and has been equipped with more modern equipment ever since. The outdated access stations (valley and mountain stations) have been replaced by ultra-modern new buildings.
