Takeoff weight

The starting weight (officially off mass , also: take-off weight and -mass ) of the missile is the weight that has the missile at the moment of detachment from the floor or from a support system. It is made up of the setup weight (setup mass) and the payload . During the flight, the weight of the missile is constantly reduced due to the consumption of fuel and lubricant.

The maximum take-off weight, on the other hand, is the maximum weight at which the missile can safely detach from the ground or the carrier system under given external conditions.
