Jam master

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dam master (or dam master , also dam keeper ) is a profession in the water industry . These operate, maintain and monitor dam systems and are responsible for their functionality. Examples of dam systems are dams , river barriers, weirs , barrages , flood retention basins , pumped storage basins, sedimentation basins, reservoirs and bedload barriers.

The apprenticeship as a hydraulic engineer can form the basis of training to become a water engineer . A dam master is an employee of a water association or a similar institution. It controls the delivery of water through the operating facilities, which include the closures in the gate valve house, the extraction facilities for drinking water and service water and the flood relief . In the case of dams that serve to protect against flooding, it is responsible for ensuring that a sufficiently large flood protection area is free, and also for a minimum water runoff so that the water below the dam does not dry out.

He has an operating plan as the basis for his actions. Its basis is a water management plan for the water. A traffic jam master is also necessary because dam systems represent a potential hazard and must be constantly monitored. He is therefore also responsible for monitoring the structure and the measuring devices at the dams. Insofar as the claim is made that the dam must be constantly manned, the stevedore often lives right next to his facility.

The term “dam keeper” is also partly understood to mean the same thing as “dam master” or “dam master”.

The traffic jam stations are subordinate to it.
