Steelmaster (full title “STEELMASTER - wheeled and tracked vehicles from yesterday and today in the original and model” ) is a magazine of the VDM Heinz Nickel publishing house . The publisher and editor-in-chief is Heinz Nickel .

history

Steelmaster's issue 1 was published in November 1994. From issue no. 19, summer 2000, the “Wheel & Chain” logo became an integral part of the newspaper. Towards the end of 2006, the name was changed from Steelmasters to Steelmaster with issue 43 .

subjects

The Steelmaster magazine focuses exclusively on military vehicle model making, with a clear focus on armored German vehicles from the Second World War . Many articles are translations of foreign-language articles by international authors.

In the model building reports, pictures and texts are used to describe how a particular model is assembled, which details have been changed and how color, signs of age and wear have been applied to the models. The magazine also contains color profiles and historical data on the originals of the models.

There are also articles on international model making events, museums or reenactment events. A discussion of innovations and new specialist literature is also an integral part of Steelmaster.

Goal setting

Steelmaster's target group are model makers who are interested in history and technology and are looking for new methods in model and diorama building.
