Dayton Leroy Rogers (* the thirtieth September 1953 in Moscow , Idaho ) is an American serial killer who in the State of Oregon killed seven women in Molalla forest.

Life

Both parents were Seventh-day Adventists . Dayton had two birth sisters, three adopted sisters and one adopted brother. His father refused to have children. The decision to start a family was made by his wife. Dayton grew up in a poor family and very often moved with the family. His school grades were average at first, but got worse as he got older. At the age of 16 he dropped out of school against his parents' wishes and moved to Corvallis , Oregon. As a teenager, he only came into conflict with the law once when he and a friend were doing “gross nonsense”.

In 1972 he moved to Eugene , southern Oregon, and got married for the first time. A few months later, Dayton committed his first adult crime. He attacked a 15-year-old girl with a knife.

In May 1989, he was responsible for the murders of 25-year-old Lisa Marie Mock, 26-year-old Maureen Ann Hodges, 35-year-old Christine Lotus Adams, 20-year-old Cynthia Devore, 26-year-old Nondace Cervantes, and 16- year old Riatha Gyles sentenced to death. A seventh woman's body could no longer be identified. He is currently on death row at Oregon State Penitentiary awaiting execution.
