Stefan Hansen (entrepreneur)
Stefan Hansen (born July 9, 1963 in Berlin ) is a German entrepreneur.
Life and education
Hansen grew up in West Berlin . He first studied German and journalism at the Free University of Berlin . After completing his studies, he completed an apprenticeship as an advertising clerk / IHK.
In the 1980s and 1990s he played rugby at national and international level, a. a. for the Berlin rugby club in the Bundesliga and in France and England. His position was number 8.
He is married to the entrepreneur Sandra Hansen, has three children and lives in Berlin.
Entrepreneurial activity
In 1989 Hansen became a managing partner of the Dorland advertising agency . In 1992 the international agency network Gray joined the agency. After the internationalization of dorland, from 1995 to 2007 he managed 19 dorland branches in 17 European countries under the umbrella of the Gray Global Group / WPP .
At the beginning of the 1990s, dorland took on a pioneering role in the liberalization of the energy markets with customers such as BEWAG / Vattenfall , EnBW and GASAG and promoted the development of the mobile communications market with e-plus service. Other customers included Honda, Procter & Gamble, Volvo, BMW Eastern Europe and Lufthansa.
Under the leadership of CCO Fritz Hendrick Melle , the image campaigns “Not for everybody” for bruno banani and “Berlin, you are so wonderful” for Berliner Pilsner were created .
In 2014 Hansen retired from international agency management to concentrate on his own projects. In doing so, he released dorland from the Gray / WPP Network and integrated it into his private equity firm Private Pier Investment and Private Pier Industries, which he founded together with Hendrick Melle in 2011 and of which he is the general authorized partner.
The dog food brand Irish Pure, the whiskey brand Grace O'Malley Whiskey and the fashion label Lemanjá were developed and distributed under the umbrella of Private Pier Industries. In addition to dorland, the promotion agency Promotion For You and the music publisher Neue Rianoni Music also belong to the group of companies. Due to the close ties to Ireland, there are several branches and subsidiaries on the Emerald Isle.
Stefan Hansen is deputy chairman of the board of the bauhaus archiv ev association , Berlin; Chairman of the Emanuel Lasker Society, Olympic Commissioner of the German Rugby Association and author of several books and publications.
