Stefan Warkalla

Stefan Warkalla (born August 22, 1964 in Dortmund ) is a German sailor .

Stefan Warkalla, who won the laser competition at the Kieler Woche in 1987 and 1988 , finished 7th in the 1993 Olympic laser class at the world championships in Takapuna , New Zealand , which the Finn Thomas Johanson decided in his favor. He was also a member of the German squad at the 1996 Olympic Games and finished fifth in the laser class. At that time he belonged to the Möhnesee yacht club . In the year of this Olympic competition, the business economist Warkalla ended his professional sports career. From April 2004, Warkalla, previously employed as District Manager at Aral AG (1991 to 1994) and from 1994 in various positions in the Tengelmann Group, was Managing Director of Landré GmbH / Hamelin Paperbrands in Gronau . Since 2009 he has been a member of the Management Board of Groupe Hamelin in Caen, France.
