Stamina (sport)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In sports science, stamina describes the ability to maintain anaerobic endurance performance for as long as possible. For example, a sprinter's stamina increases the longer he can maintain his maximum speed during a run. In addition to physical training, the prerequisites for this are primarily of a psychological nature, since a maximum load in the anaerobic area leads to high stress due to the increase in the lactic acid content in the blood.
