The Steinexpo (International Quarry Demonstration Fair for the Raw and Building Materials Industry) is, according to the organizer, the largest demonstration fair of its kind on the European continent. Since it was first organized in 1990, it has taken place every three years in Europe's largest basalt quarry, "Hochberg", operated by Mitteldeutsche Hartstein-Industrie AG in Nieder-Ofleiden , Hesse . The fair is organized by Geoplan GmbH. The official spelling is stein expo .

The proportion of trade visitors is usually over 90%, plus young professionals or private visitors. For safety reasons it is necessary to wear a protective helmet.

The particular attraction of this fair is that, in addition to static exhibits, numerous devices and machines are presented to the public under real operating conditions on spacious areas.

The last Steinexpo took place in its tenth edition from August 30 to September 2, 2017 on an area of ​​approx. 180,000 m² (2014: 180,000 m²), of which 52,900 m² were built over, on which 293 exhibitors (2014: 254) displayed their machines, Devices and systems were presented to 53,890 visitors (2014: 48,130) during the entire course of the fair. The next trade fair is expected to take place from April 14th to 17th, 2021 (postponed due to the corona pandemic).
