Langridge Wood stone chest

The Bronze Age stone chest of Langridge Wood is located south of the Coleridge Way, in the eponymous forest, about 400 m northwest of Treborough Lodge, southwest of Roadwater near Withycombe in Somerset in England . The stone chest is one of seven documented on Exmoor , two of which have survived.

The box was covered by a cairn . It was discovered in 1820 when workers removed the stones from the cairn to use for road construction. The slate- made tomb contained a skeleton that was buried in the Treborough churchyard. The square capstone of about two meters is still there.
