Coal barrel

The hard coal barrel was a measure of volume in Hamburg . The measure was regulated and confirmed on May 28, 1823 and again for the trade in hard coal on April 22, 1825. The barrel was painted differently.

1 hard coal barrel = 16438 cubic inches (hamb.) = 11286 Parisian cubic inches = 223.87 liters
