Stephan Grünewald (born November 8, 1960 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German psychologist and market researcher .

Life

Grünewald completed a psychology degree at the University of Cologne with Wilhelm Salber, among others . In 1987, immediately after graduating, he and his partner Jens Lönneker founded an "Institute for qualitative market and impact analyzes", since 1997 the rheingold institute for qualitative market and media analyzes and for a while worked as a psychotherapist .

Grünewald's Institute uses in-depth interviews for its market research projects, of which around 5,000–7,000 are carried out each year. His customers include international corporations and brands.

Since 2006, Grünewald has authored several popular non-fiction books on the sensitivities of German society, including Germany on the Couch (2006) and most recently Die exhaustfte Gesellschaft (2013), which became bestsellers.

Grünewald is married and lives in Cologne with his wife and four children .
