NGC 5529 is a 12.1 likes bright spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sc in the constellation Bootes the northern sky . It is estimated to be 132 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 230,000 light-years across .

The object was discovered on May 1, 1785 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as “vF, mE”.
