NGC 5508 is a 13.8 mag bright, lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble-type S0 in the constellation Bear Guardian in the northern sky. It is estimated to be 512 million light years from the Milky Way and about 165,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered on April 20, 1882 by Édouard Stephan .
