NGC 5487 is a 14.0 mag bright bar-spiral-shaped radio galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Bear Guardian. It is estimated to be 326 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 90,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 5469 , NGC 5482 , NGC 5511 .
The object was discovered by George Searle on March 22, 1868 .
