NGC 5504 , also NGC 5504A called, is a 13.0 likes bright barred spiral galaxy of Hubble type SBBC in the constellation Bootes the northern sky . It is estimated 235 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 90,000 ly. Together with the non-NGC objects IC 4383 ( NGC 5504B ) and PGC 50713 ( NGC 5504C ) it forms a gravitationally bound galaxy trio .
In the same area of ​​the sky is u. a. the galaxy NGC 5522 .

The object was discovered on June 7, 1880 by Édouard Stephan .
