NGC 5521 is a 13.6 likes bright spiral galaxy of Hubble type "S?" In the constellation Bootes the northern sky . It is estimated to be 258 million light years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered on April 10, 1828 by John Herschel .
