NGC 5511 , also called NGC 5511B , is a 14.5 mag bright galaxy of the Hubble-type S? in the constellation Bear Keeper and about 327 million light years from the Milky Way. Together with the non-NGC object PGC 50778 ( NGC 5511A , with which it is sometimes confused), it forms a gravitationally bound double galaxy. The object was discovered by George Hough on May 10, 1883 .
