Stephan Andrin Keller (born May 31, 1979 in Zurich ) is a Swiss football player .

Career

Stephan Keller is a defender and played for the Juniors of Grasshoppers Zurich for 13 years . In 1999 he moved to Neuchâtel Xamax , where he was immediately a regular player. In two years he played 63 league games for the club and scored one goal. In 2001 he moved to SC Kriens before joining FC Zurich six months later . There he experienced his most successful period to date. He scored three goals in 61 games. After reaching the semifinals of the 2002 U-21 European Championship with the Swiss team, he was also appointed to the Swiss national football team, for which he played three games until 2003.

After losing his regular place at FC Zurich, Keller moved to FC Aarau in early 2004 . Half a year later he went to Germany and joined the second division club FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt , where he could not prevail. After he scored two goals in 19 second division games and the Thuringians were relegated at the end of the season, Keller moved to the Dutch first division club RKC Waalwijk . There he was a regular player in the 2005/06 season and was in 30 games on the field, in which he scored three goals. His contract in Waalwijk ran until 2008. In 2009 he went to Sydney FC . In the 2011/12 season he played for the Dutch second division side Willem II Tilburg .
