Stephan Prantl

Stephan Prantl (born February 20, 1969 in Cologne ) is a German BMX cyclist. He was multiple vice world champion and multiple German champion . He is one of the "first hour" athletes who made BMX popular in Germany in the 1980s and 1990s.

For over 20 years, Prantl has been responsible for the BMX competitions in the Cologne Youth Park , an important competition series in the German BMX scene and competitive landscape. Established competitions that have developed from this are the BMX Masters and the BMX World Championship .

Career

During his career as a professional BMX cyclist, Prantl started his first retail business, later a wholesale and retail business. He developed his own bicycle brand, which is one of the established brands in the industry today. After finishing his sporting career, Prantl concentrated on the professional execution of BMX competitions. Today Prantl is the owner of a sports marketing agency and has been pursuing his private passion for BMX sport since 2004 by participating in the Veteranencup in Weiterstadt.

As the European representative, he represents the association IMBXFF, which is committed to BMX freestyle sport worldwide.

Prantl won silver four times at the BMX Freestyle World Championships.

  • 1994: Silver in the Pro Mini Ramp discipline (Germany)
  • 1994: 5th place in the Pro Street discipline (Germany)
  • 1997: 4th place in the Pro Dirt discipline (Netherlands)
