Stephen M. Veazey

Stephen Mark Veazey is the current President of the Communion of Christ . Veazey was presented to the Church as successor by the Twelve Apostles of the Church. He was accepted and ordained as the eighth President of the Church at a special world conference on June 3, 2005.

Veazey holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Arts degree in Religion from Park College .

Prior to 1983, Veazy was pastor of a California ward and was in charge of a missionary project in the San Francisco area .

Veazy has been with the church full-time since 1983. He was ordained a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in 1992. In April 2002 he became president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and missionary commissioner for the First Presidency. He also demonstrated support and leadership in distributing church positions and in youth work. Veazey was responsible for missionary work and administration of the area of ​​the southern United States and many other areas.

Veazey presented Chapter 163 of the Doctrine and Covenants to the 2007 World Conference . He stated that the Hymns of the Saints was a source for this document. This document explains scriptural theology, the mission of the Church, and other spiritual concerns of the fellowship of Christ .

On January 17, 2010, Veazey presented another document that became part of the Doctrine and Covenants . A very brief message was added to the President's address on April 5, 2009. On April 14, 2010, the fellowship of Christ voted to recognize this document as scripture. That document is now added as Chapter 164 in the Doctrine and Covenants.
