Stereo de luxe

Stereo de Luxe is the name of a DJ and music producer team from Berlin.

The project was founded in 1994 by Karsten "Kassi" Wolf, who was then a solo DJ under the artist name Stereo de Luxe . Shortly after its founding, Stereo de Luxe became an integral part of the newly emerging lounge, easy listening and club pop scene in Berlin and performed in many of the newly established clubs in the reunified capital. From 1995 Stereo de Luxe became increasingly active internationally, toured Europe and played in the USA - often side by side with musically related DJs such as Le Hammond Inferno , Maxwell Implosion , Ursula 1000 , Konishi Yasuharu ( Pizzicato Five ) and Fantastic Plastic Machine .

In 1998 Wolf teamed up with Thomas Mävers (aka Tom Krimi). The two then formed a DJ and producer duo under the name Stereo de Luxe. The musical style increasingly shifted towards breakbeat , house and electro-funk . The duo's first EP was released under the title Aerocyclette in 1999 on Bungalow Records . In 2000, the album Glam-o-Rama followed on the same label . In addition to the publications at Bungalow , tracks and remixes by Stereo de Luxe appeared on international labels such as Plastic Raygun , Howlin ' and KP Production . The DJ team's latest releases came on Freshly Squeezed Music .

From 2004 it became much quieter around Stereo de Luxe - mainly due to the fact that both members were active in other bands and projects. After a long break, caused by the relocation of founding member Wolf to London, a new album was released on March 2, 2009 under the title Monosyllabic on the British label Freshly Squeezed Music.
