Tax assistance is a teaching profession in Austria. It has existed since June 1, 2011.

tasks

Tax assistants work mainly in the Austrian financial administration and in business trust firms . They support you in processing tax returns, enforcement proceedings , requests for deferral and repayment, objections and applications for social benefits. They also carry out bookkeeping and wage accounting, support with annual financial statements and audits, and take care of submitting tax returns, advance notifications, repayment and deferral requests.

education

The training takes place according to the dual system in the training company and accompanying this in the vocational school. The vocational school provides the theoretical background that is needed to practice the profession. The training period is 3 years.

conditions

The required expertise and specialist knowledge include commercial understanding, logical-analytical thinking, organizational skills, systematic working methods and a good understanding of numbers. Tax assistants should also be communicative and customer-oriented.

There are training opportunities for tax assistants, including a. at the Academy of Tax Advisors and Auditors, or training to become an accountant, tax officer, accountant, controller or accounting manager.
