Cape Grenville is a headland in northeast Australia , on the east coast of the Cape York Peninsula . The cape is part of the Cook Shire administrative area of the state of Queensland .
Directly off the eastern tip of the cape are more than ten small islands , the Home Islands , which belong to the northern section of the Great Barrier Reef and which are within five kilometers of the shoreline. The largest of these islands is Hicks Island with an area of 160 hectares . The headland and the offshore islands are uninhabited.
To the north is Shelburne Bay, south to Temple Bay. The next larger town is Weipa .
