In contrast to user data , control data refers to additional auxiliary information of a file format, transmission protocol (see below) or the like, which is used for synchronization, structuring, etc.

Log data

As log data , the control data of a protocol referred that to ensure the communication necessary between receiver and transmitter. Log data can be structured very differently depending on the layer of the OSI reference model in which they are located.
