Control electrode

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Control electrode denotes:

  • Electrodes that influence the field profile of an electric field to improve insulation or dielectric strength , see e.g. B. the corona ring on a high-voltage insulator
  • Electrodes that influence the behavior of an electron tube or a transistor for the purpose of controlling the flowing current, such as. B. a control grid on an electron tube or the gate electrode in a field effect transistor
