Steve Grand

Steve Grand (* 1990 in Chicago, Illinois , USA ) is an American country singer . The self-funded video for his debut song All American Boy received more than a million views on YouTube within a week in July 2013 .

life and career

Grand started writing his own songs at the age of 11. He first realized he was homosexual at the age of 13 and struggled to reconcile his sexuality with his parents' Catholic upbringing. His parents then sent him to a five year long conversion therapy , which was supposed to "cure" him of his homosexuality. After Grand graduated from Lemont High School , he moved to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee for a year before returning to Chicago.

Prior to his career as a singer, Grand worked as a model under the stage name Steve Chatham. He also released several cover songs under the stage name Steve Starchild.
