Steven Jay Russell
Steven Jay Russell (born September 14, 1957 in Virginia Beach ) is an American con artist and impostor who has escaped from prison several times . He has received numerous nicknames, including e.g. B. " Houdini " and "King Con" ("King of the swindlers"). His IQ is said to be 163.
Due to his authoritarian, self-assured demeanor and his cunning, he was able to successfully pretend to be a judge, chief financial officer, doctor, millionaire or police officer and thus commit numerous bank and insurance frauds. He also escaped from a county jail twice, from a maximum security prison and twice without violence once from a guarded hospital.
His story was filmed in 2009 with the comedy I Love You Phillip Morris .
