Stiassny or Stiaßny is the Germanized form of the Czech-Slovak family name Šťastný . This has the meaning happy or bringing luck . In the German-speaking world, the name Stiassny occurs mainly in Austria and here it is more common in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland.
