Education and Development Foundation
The Education and Development Foundation (SBE) is a specialist agency in the field of “ global learning ” in Switzerland.
aims
The foundation promotes an education that supports students in developing skills for dealing with global challenges and in becoming aware of their own values and those of others. The SBE is based on the educational concept of global learning , human rights form the ethical framework. On the basis of global learning, the SBE makes a contribution to education for sustainable development and is committed to its integration into the Swiss education system.
Services
The foundation has regional offices in Bern, Lausanne, Lugano and Zurich. It offers teachers and other interested parties:
- evaluated teaching materials in sales and lending
- Education and training courses
- Financial support for educational projects of schools in Switzerland in the areas of "Global contexts", "Racism prevention" and "Human rights learning"
- NGO educational offers for schools: List of recommended educational offers from non-governmental organizations
- Advice and networking
The Foundation's Films for One World , which offers films for teaching, is part of the foundation .
Sponsorship
The SBE is supported by the Directorate for Development and Cooperation SDC, the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Education Directors EDK, teacher associations as well as aid organizations and other nonprofit organizations.
