The Foundation for Historical Army Material Management Support (Stiftung HAMFU) operates the Uster Collection Center with the subject of communication technology and command support . The collection shows the history of the use and technology of the means of communication used by the Swiss Army . The foundation's motto is: Collect - Preserve - Research - Communicate .

The center has a collection of 15,000 objects from the period from 1875 to 2000. These are signaling devices, devices and systems from the fields of telephony , telegraphy , Morse code technology , radio , telecommunications technology , information technology and a collection of 50 authentically equipped transmission vehicles . The integrated archive is used for object research.

The center and the collection belong to the Confederation . The Historical Army Material Foundation is supported by the Transmission Interest Group. The Uster Collection Center is one of three VBS material competence centers in the field of historical army material. The collection center is accessible as part of guided tours.
