Child Protection Foundation Switzerland
Child Protection Switzerland is a non-profit foundation that works as a specialist agency throughout Switzerland to ensure that children can grow up in protection and dignity free of violence, that their rights are protected and their integrity is protected. The foundation was established in the form of an association on November 20, 1982; first as the Swiss Child Protection Association, then as the Association for Child Protection Switzerland and converted into a foundation in 2009. The foundation is managed by the executive committee and the foundation council committee. Child Protection Switzerland is based in Bern . Yvonne Feri has been President of the Board of Trustees since 2016 .
The foundation's activities include the implementation of prevention projects and awareness campaigns as well as political lobbying at the federal level. In particular, she advocates the prohibition of corporal punishment in education.
The foundation is a country partner of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN)
ECPAT Switzerland is the national representative of ECPAT international , the global network against the sexual exploitation of children and child trafficking. It is integrated as a specialist unit in the Swiss Child Protection Foundation.
“Strong Parents - Strong Children” is a parenting course that was developed by the German Child Protection Association . Since August 1, 2011, the foundation has been running the parenting course program. It also offers this course in Turkish in several cantons, including Zurich and Bern.
Since 2006, the foundation has offered, among other things, the interactive exhibition "My body is mine!" for pupils in the 2nd to 4th grade. In the context of the exhibition, the children deal with the messages for the prevention of sexual violence in a playful way.
