The Foundation for Cultural Heritage in the Rural Area of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was established in 2005 with the aim of looking after and preserving the cultural heritage in the rural area of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . There is a support association of the same name .
The landscape of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has been shaped for centuries by manor complexes with associated manor houses . The foundation wants to counteract the multiple threats that these systems pose today.
Projects
- Establishment of an inspection service ( Denkmalwacht MV ) for the regular maintenance of old buildings and monuments
- Model project Wasserschloss Quilow for professional restoration and the development of a sustainable usage concept
- Establishment of a manor house route with comprehensive descriptions of the manor complexes, parks and rural monuments along the route with the focus on art-historical representation
- Other projects deal with cross-border manors, parks and gardens in the neighboring states bordering the Baltic Sea, for example cooperation with the Euroregion Pomerania is sought. The aim of the first German-Polish landscape project “ Stolzenburg / Stolec - Glashütte ” is to renovate the estate and park on both sides of the border.
