history

The foundation was established on May 10, 1994 and in 1997 took over the sponsorship of a new project in Baden after it was discovered that there were too few offers of sheltered jobs for people with mental disabilities in the canton of Aargau .

As part of a future laboratory of the city of Baden, an ideas competition was held in which the project “Baden is (s) t good” was awarded. This envisaged the creation of integration spaces in a restaurant. The social company "Roter Turm Baden" was soon able to start operations under the umbrella of the Pegasus Foundation with an offer of 12 sheltered places.

After the project was established, a review was carried out in 2000 to see whether further offers could be created in the canton. Since the tunnel workshop was planning similar projects at its locations in Aarau and Wohlen, a cooperation was entered into with this institution, which made it possible to open an industrial sewing shop in Aarau and an assembly workshop in Wohlen with 15 workplaces each from the beginning of 2001.

Since this offer could not meet the demand either, another 30 jobs were created in the following year. These can all be found in the “Office” area. In addition to the internal KV and multimedia offers, a so-called network of positions has been set up with the aim of finding external positions for people with a mental disability - this means that the employees with impaired performance are instructed in the work area by a specialist, but if it is due to illness If there are difficulties, these are cushioned by the social support provided by the Pegasus Foundation. This offer is another important step towards (re) integration into the regular world of work.

Furthermore, professional measures are offered in all workshops of the foundation as well as at external locations. This offer was expanded in 2004 and, in particular, carries out investigations on behalf of the Aargau IV office. Work training and integration measures are also possible.

The foundation also runs a multimedia workshop. In it, the employees create sophisticated websites and graphic solutions. The customers are companies, NGOs, politicians and social organizations as well as private individuals. Through the demanding work, the foundation supports mentally handicapped people according to their possibilities. Time and again, employees can be successfully integrated into the 1st job market.

In the summer of 2004, the open leisure center was opened in Aarau, creating for the first time an offer that goes beyond the topic of “work”. The foundation was able to set up a quality management system in its workshops, for which the SQS certificate ISO 9001: 2000 / BSV - IV 2000 was granted in 2003.
