Rütimattli Foundation

The Rütimattli Foundation is a non-profit service provider for people with disabilities in the municipality of Sachseln in the canton of Obwalden in Switzerland . The offer is aimed at children, young people and adults who are impaired in their development, mentally, multiply or mentally disabled.

history

The Rütimattli Foundation is an institution under private law with a non-profit character. It was founded in 1967 under the name Gloria Foundation and renamed to its current name in 1995. The socially committed entrepreneur Gottlieb Gloor took the initiative back then and set up the foundation. At the beginning of 1968 the special educational day school was opened in Alpnach . In 1976, the new Rütimattli school home was put into operation at its current headquarters in Sachseln. The Obwaldner Volksfreund described this as "the most perfect and modern special school in all of Switzerland". On January 1, 2011, a new performance agreement was concluded with the canton of Obwalden. Its core is a new financing mode with flat rates agreed in advance.

Fields of activity and offer

The foundation's range of services includes early childhood curative education , a curative educational school (Rütimattli school home), day school, boarding school, integrative support in regular classes, workshops (Hüetli workshop, Büntenpark workshop, military street wood workshop), college gardening (integration), dormitories for adults, residential groups and Outdoor living groups. A total of 278 people use the offer (as of December 2008).
