Breastfeeding with a nursing bra

A nursing bra is a brassiere specially developed for nursing mothers .

description

The bra makes it possible to breastfeed the baby without taking off the bra. One of the most important features of the nursing bra is therefore the cups that can be easily opened. There are different ways in which the cups of a nursing bra can be opened. Systems with clips, buttons, zippers and press studs are widespread among them.

history

The first brassiere for pregnant women goes back to the American designer Emma Goodman in 1888. In 1914, a US patent for a bra was granted to the American Mary Phelps Jacob . About 30 years later, in 1943, the patent for the nursing bra (“nursing brassiere”) from Albert A. Glasser from Los Angeles followed. The baby boom from the mid-1940s triggered a sales boom in nursing bras.
