The Orange II is a sailing catamaran designed for ocean races. With a boat length of 36.80 meters, the yacht has a 45 meter high mast. Orange II was designed by Gilles Ollier and the Multiplast design team and built at Multiplast SAS shipyard in Vannes , France.

Speed ​​records

  • Orange II won the Jules Verne Trophy for the fastest circumnavigation of the world in 50 days, 16 hours, 20 minutes and 4 seconds. Orange II was sailed by the Frenchman Bruno Peyron as skipper and a crew of 13. The record lasted five years from 2005 to 2010.
  • In 2006, Orange II again sailed the fastest Atlantic crossing from west to east for crew yachts under its skipper Bruno Peyron in 4 days, 8 hours, 23 minutes and 54 seconds.

The sponsor Orange (formerly France Télécom ) ended its activities in the field of yacht racing and so Orange II was stored at the Multiplast shipyard for seven years.

Conversion from a racer to a cruise ship

The Orange II received a new life as Vitalia II . The son of Baron Marcel Bich , Francois Bich , bought the catamaran and had it converted into a yacht for vacation trips. Francois Bich, who himself managed the French BIC Group and also sailed for the America's Cup on his father's French twelve in 1970 and 1974 , wants to sail around the world with his family on Vitalia II . The yacht was given six cabins, three for the five-person crew and three for the guests.
