Stir It Up (Bob Marley Song)

Stir It Up (in German about "stir it up" or "cook it up") is a song composed by Bob Marley , which was first released in 1972 on the album "I Can See Clearly Now" by the American Johnny Nash . In 1973 the piece was released on the studio album Catch a Fire by Bob Marley and his band The Wailers as the sixth of nine songs.

Stir It Up was Marley's first internationally successful song and is still one of his best-known pieces. The song is about intuitive seduction and was an integral part of concerts on the tours of 1973 and 1975 and later occasionally in 1978 and 1979. A live recording was released on the live album Babylon by Bus (1978).

The song is written in A major . The duration of the album version is about five and a half minutes.
