The Stockplatz is a square in Trier in the Mitte district . It is located on Jakobstrasse . Stockstrasse , which branches off from Simeonstrasse, joins the square. In the Middle Ages the square was called “(Großer) Judenplatz” and was part of the Jewish quarter.

The square got its current name in 1878. The name comes from three connected buildings, which were called "Stock". From 1417 these buildings were proven to be a civil prison. The Stockstrasse leading away from the square got its name from the square and was originally called "Kleine Judenpforte" (compared to the "Große Judenpforte" on Judengasse ). In 1869 the house in which the small Jewish gate was located was demolished, creating the new street.

There are two historical cultural monuments on the square : the so-called cellar from 1904/05 and a commercial building from the 18th century. There are also two other cultural monuments in Stockstraße, which are buildings from the 19th century.
