Fabric weight

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fabric weight is an indication of the quality of the thickness of textiles .

Rating

The weight of the fabric in grams or ounces relates to the running meter or yard of the fabric. However, this can vary significantly in width depending on the type of fabric. A direct comparison is therefore only possible with specialist knowledge or standardization on area information.

Fabric quality

The quality of the fabric does not only depend on the thickness. Apart from the fact that light fabrics in summer clothing or silk fabrics have different goals, there is also poorly processed quality of the fabric with high fabric weight, so that in these cases a longer shelf life is not given.
